If you are one of those people who are planning to buy cool cars, you should make it a point to do your homework first before you head for the car dealer’s place. Always remember that cool cars can be quite expensive and if you are not careful with your choices, you could end up with something that is not really worth your hard earned money. To help you choose the right cool car, here are some tips for you.

Brand New Versus Used Cars

The first thing that you need to do if you want to buy cool cars is to decide whether you want a brand new one or a used one. Both brand new and used cars have their own advantages and disadvantages so you should be able to look closely into these things before you attempt to buy your dream car. Always remember that comparing the advantages and disadvantages of brand new and used cars will help you make an intelligent decision as to which one you will buy.

Consult Your Budget

Since money plays a vital role in your selection for cool cars, you will need to take into consideration your budget. Note that brand new cool cars can cost considerably higher than their used counterparts. However, the good news about brand new cars is that brand new cars have lesser maintenance cost compared to the used cars so if you are very much concerned about your future maintenance expenses, getting a brand new cool car may be a better option for you. On the other hand, if you are more concerned about saving money on the purchase cost of your cool car, a used car which is in good running condition may be more appropriate for you.

Select A Good Brand

Once you have made up your mind whether to buy a used car or a brand new car, the next step would be to study the different brands of cars. Note that different brands of cool cars have their own special features so it would be wise to determine first what features you want in your car and then select a car brand that can give you the utmost satisfaction. To help you select the right car brand, go to the websites of these companies. You may also read reviews about the products of these companies. The good thing about reading reviews about different brands of cool cars is that you will be able to easily compare these brands.

Over the years we have been blessed with some truly astonishing fast cars. From the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO to the present day might of the Bugatti veyron, these super fast cars have been the envy of many and the true dream of some. These days super cars are blindingly quick with super cool cars such as the Koeinigsegg CCR and the Bugatti Veyron covering over a football pitch per second when flat out at full speed. These super fast cars will remain a pin up on the wall for most of us, unless you own an oil rig or won the lotto. If you are lucky enough to afford one of these awesome machines, or would just like to keep dreaming then we have composed a guide to some of the world’s fastest production cars below.

McLaren F1:

Released in 1994 the McLaren F1 was the daddy of all super cars for over 10 years. It was the fastest road legal production car of all time before finally being knocked off the top spot by the Koeinigsegg CCR. The McLaren F1 is still regarded by many to still be the best super car of all time. Although over 15 years old the McLaren F1 still packs one hell of a punch with it’s 6.1 L (6064 cc) V12 engine kicking out 627 horse power. The car has a central driving position making it feel more F1 like. And with an acceleration speed of 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 241 mph this is no slug.

Koeinigsegg CCR:

Then we have the Koeinigsegg CCS designed and manufactured in Angelholm, Sweden, 2004 this awesome looking machine holds the belt for knocking the McLaren F1 of its top spot. The Koeinigsegg CCS has a 6 speed manual transmission with an rpm of 6790. The engine is a 4.7 L ford modular V8 which drinks juice faster than an Arabian desert. The Koeinigsegg CCS has a top speed of 242 mph and does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.

Enzo Ferrari:

Named after the big man of Ferrari himself expectations were high when this beast was announced in 2003. And I’m pleased to say that it has lived up to them. With its F1-style sequential shift transmission and carbon fiber body this car too has F1 credentials. The enzo has a 6.0L V12 engine which churns out 651 horsepower and does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds with a high rpm rate of 7800 gives it a top speed of 218 mph.

Bugatti Veyron:

The Bugatti veyron is a monster of a vehicle, costing around $12.000.000 to produce the first one! The Bugatti has an incredible 6 radiators, that’s more than your average house! The Bugatti smashed the record for the world’s fastest production car in October 2005 reaching 253 mph! 0-60 in 2.43 seconds. The engine is a massive 8.0L quad turbo-charged W16.

SSC Ultimate Aero TT:

Manufactured by Shelby super cars the Ultimate Aero TT is the current fastest production car in the world, beating the mighty veyron by 2.5 mph. With an incredible 254 mph as the top speed this will take some beating. The Ultimate aero TT has 1,183 bhp and accelerates from 0-60 in 2.78 seconds. no doubt that this is an awesome American masterpiece!

So there you have it 5 of the worlds fastest production cars. Some people though have gone to the extremes of tuning up their Skyline or Supra or other up gradable sports cars into 1000 bop monsters, but you can find information on fast import cars on the web. Their is a lot more dream machines that I have not mentioned such as the Lamborghini Diablo, the Zonda F and the Porsche 911 GT3.

Concept cars, or cars designed according to a certain theme or older model, are by and large prototypes introduced at car and motor shows to estimate consumer response and appeal.

Combining the best of modern technology with the sleek lines of tried and time-tested cars from the past, concept cars are often tentative feelers put out by automobile companies to test the waters before ‘diving’ into serious production.

The automobile industry being a multi billion dollar industry, car manufactures alike see the benefit of these widely attended car shows. The manufactures have an opportunity to gleam a great deal of valuable information from these shows at a relatively low cost.

Concept cars were first introduced by designer Harley Earl of General Motors in the 1950s. It was for the concept of a car that offered buyers state-of-the-art motor car engineering in a new design which was really a version of a senior theme. This gained almost instant popularity with the universal public.

Recognizing a winning horse when they saw one, General Motors further publicized the concept and their car, through its traveling Motorama shows of that period. Beautiful to behold, concept cars show off radical, futuristic designs, powerful engines and sometimes even controversial technology.

However, alluring as these concept cars may appear under the spotlight, many of them often obtain changes before being put on the production line by their manufacturers, and all of them are subjected to alterations that make them more suitable, and affordable, to their target markets.

An from the eyes of the public these changes to the car are often very drastic changes. This of course, is after the study of the data from these shows. Which again as become a valuable asset to the car manufacturers. These car shows alone save the manufacturer several million dollars. Just knowing that a car is not deemed acceptable or needs a few modifications before going to production.

The majority of concept cars seen at auto exhibitions such as the Geneva Motor Show are the dream rides of automobile fans and racing enthusiasts, but are more often than not only show models made of wax, clay, metal, fibreglass and plastic. In fact many concept cars never even reach this phase due to impractical design glitches and price factors.

An interesting example of an old, functional concept car being brought back into service would be the 1954 Ford Lincoln Futura, which after having been stored in the North Hollywood car shop of George Barris came out of storage to stand up to stardom as the Batmobile of the 1966 Batman series on the ABC TV Network.

On the same note, current examples for concept cars would be the Mercedes-Benz bionic car (this is said to mix the best of nature, engineering and the ever popular DaimlerCrysler engine), the 2006 BMW Mille Miglia concept coupe (based on the earlier BMW 328 Traveling coupe and the BMW Z4 M coupe), the Camaro Concept sports coupe (which follows the lines of the first Camaros) and the Chrysler Imperial Concept 2006 (a direct descendent of classic Imperial and Chrysler designs).

Sadly, the bulk of concept cars are destroyed once their use has been served. However, some do escape the crusher and continue to live their lives in storage or on exhibit in automobile museums.

The information that is gathered by manufacturers from these car shows is proven to be a method of great value.

Chevrolet plans to release a new corvette in 2009, well not exactly new, it’s and upgraded version of the ZR1 corvette from the 1980’s, and when I say up graded I mean up graded, more power, better handling, more comfortable, well yo get the idea, this car is the king of the hill, the best of the best that Chevrolet has to offer.

With it’s supercharged LS9 engine it is putting out about 650 horsepower, making it the most powerful car built by Chevrolet for a long long time, and making the corvette set salivate, waiting with anticipation, chomping at the bit ready for something new, and this is just what the doctor ordered for a corvette freak.

With more then enough power to satisfy the most power hungry corvette freak, and the Euro styling of the new corvette, it will no doubt be a huge seller, and no doubt be unbeatable by any stock muscle car on the market, yes I said any, and that includes the Viper, being as how the corvette can already hold it’s own against the viper.

Chevrolet has dropped the displacement of the engine down to 6.2 liters, and added another 149 horsepower, obviously this will not be a cheap car, it’s not going to be a car for a person that makes $30,000 per year, it will be in the low to mid $100,000 dollar range, making it out of the budget of a normal person.

With all the technology that Chevrolet is throwing at this car, it’s no wonder that it will not be cheap, I have to give them “CUDOS” for building such a cool car, it’s just like that old days, when Chevrolet was the top dog, they are on their way to being the king again.

To put all that power to the ground, in a manor that won’t have you fish tailing all over the road Chevrolet has added Michelin Pilot Sport 285/30ZR19s at the front of this monster, and at the rear the awesome power of this engine is being distributed by way of Michelin Pilot Sport 335/25ZR20s, this car has the stance of a muscle car, but will handle like a sports car making it the only choice for a true American muscle car guy or girl.

The ZO6 corvette had a very stiff suspension, making it difficult to drive quickly on the road, whereas the new corvette ZR1 will use some Euro tech known as magneto-rheological dampers, like the Ferrari 599, the fluid in these units is filled with iron particles and the viscosity can be instantly changed by varying an electric current passing through it, ride sensors in the car take measurements every 0.001 seconds, and translate the information to the dampers every 0.002 seconds, adjusting the firmness of the ride to handle the corners much better then a stock mechanical system would.

With a six speed gear box, and Ferrari disc brakes at all four corners, stopping should be no problem either, as you well know, what speeds up must at one time on another slow down, and the brakes and transmission are just as important as the engine is to your safety, the brake rotors are made for a carbon ceramic composite, the Ferrari Enzo used these brakes on the front wheels, the corvette will use them at all four corners.

The Tremec 6060 will handle the power distribution from the engine to the road, and to show off a bit of it’s new attitude, the speedometer will move for a 200 mph unit in the ZO6 Corvette, and a new 220 mph unit in the all new ZR1, with all of this awesome technology, it will be a car lovers dream come true, all that power and grace in a Chevrolet corvette, not a Porsche, not any Euro car, the corvette, and American built sports car, yes I said American.

Imagine combining the great design features from three different classic Chevy models such as the 1957 Bel Air, 1958 Chevrolet Impala and the horizontal fins of a 1959 Chevrolet. Then wrap this contemporary body around a 2005-2007 Corvette C6 chassis. This is precisely what was done with a n2a Motors concept car called the 789.

Named for the three years symbolized in the overall design and instantly recognizable by old car buff around the world, the 789 is one cool car.

The nose of the 789 is represented by the familiar hood rockets, chrome hood V, grille bar, parking lights, rubber bumper tips and headlight bezel of a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. Just for an added flair, what looks like 1957 Chevy hood bar extensions wrap around the front fenders.

Rear treatment is a very close match to the spread wings and cat eye taillights of the 1959 Chevrolet’s slim line design styling including the placement of the license plate.

All along the side, stainless trim bear a resemblance to a 1958 Chevrolet Impala, right down to the placement of the Corvette crossed flags emblems. The 789 interior is similar to the tri-colored ribbed vinyl’s used in 1958 Chevy Impala luxury lounge interiors almost 50 years ago.

A 789 is well equipped with all of the standard equipment the 2005-2007 Corvette has to offer including 6.0L LS2 400 plus horsepower V8 engine and automatic or 6 speed manual transmission. In addition, each car includes a custom exhaust system and $2,000 custom wheel upgrade.

The challenge of creating a new automobile with 1950s design must have been difficult. However this 789 is beautiful and has just the right mix of styling from a Chevy era when just about everybody had one. Among the millions of cars Chevrolet has manufactured over its almost 100 year history this 789 concept car built by n2a Motors will one day become part of “The Heartbeat of America”.

What is at the heart of cool cars everywhere? Is it the speed they can travel at? Is it the thought of the wind brushing your hair? If it’s the latter, then you have a soft top (convertible), or someone’s pinched your roof!

Well, it could be either of these things. Or perhaps cool cars mean something else to you entirely. But to me, it is the shape of the car. Not so much cool cars but cool curves … Sexist? Perhaps, but true none the less. I think I classic car is defined by it’s architecture.

Look at any sports models over the years. What has defined them, made them stand out? Ok, the price is one thing, but take a step back and really think about what makes a hot car so cool?

There is something else that makes a car cool, at least as far as I am concerned. And that is the interior. Or to be more precise, what the interior is made of. My first car lives in my memory to this day, and surely that is the mark of a cool car. I can remember the smell of the leather seats and look of the wooden dash surround. Plastic just doesn’t cut it, especially not in more mass produced models.

And it had curves!

So what else puts the cool into a car for you?

For me personally, low is cool. The closer I am to the ground, the better I feel. Some people like to have a high vantage point, and perhaps that is cool to them. It certainly helps to have a better view of the road from a practical point of view.

For many, the colour of a car defines its ‘cool’. Red is often the colour to fuel associated with the hottest cars around (not surprisingly really). But what about black? There is something mystical about jet black automobiles, don’t you think? To some, an unusual colour is the height of chic as far as a car is concerned. You might not like bright yellow or lime green, but your will always notice them, won’t you. And to some folk, that is all that is required from a cool car.

Camaro Convertibles Can Hold Their Own

Camaro convertibles are unique in design. They stood up against the Mustang and held their own. Car enthusiasts everywhere appreciate a fine looking Camaro with or without the top. The convertible cost more and is a heavier car. The colors can be chosen to match the car or to contrast.

The Sexy Camaro Convertibles

In 1967, the Camaro convertible was chosen to pace the Indy 500. This gave the car a sexy new image. The fans that were die hard for Camaros certainly loved it. Chevrolet continued its commitment to building a fast, sporty car with the Z/28 Sport Coupe.

Speed

The Camaro SS convertible had several different distinct exterior features, including a bumblebee stripe on the front end, fender script, and SS emblem on the black grille. The version had a 350 V-8 and four-speed transmission. Wow, what a fast car!

The 1969 Camaro convertible was the last of the first-generation Camaros and is a favorite among enthusiasts. This RS/SS is a show winner that boasts a 350 L48 engine and four-speed transmission.

f you are ever so lucky to find a Camaro convertible that has been preserved or reworked, you truly have found a prize. Old Camaro convertibles are hard to find as many like to fix them up and drop new motors in them. Bring back the good ole days! An old Camaro convertible is a wonderful value.
